Mission
AI is everywhere, but the people who are actually pushing it forward are hard to find. They're scattered across X, YouTube, GitHub, and dozens of niche communities. There's no single place to discover who the best AI users really are.
We built TopAIUsers to change that. One directory. Editorially scored. Categorised by what they do, what tools they use, and where they're based. Updated regularly as new people emerge and existing users level up.
This isn't a popularity contest. Follower counts matter, but they're not everything. We look at real impact: published work, open source contributions, community influence, and the quality of what people are actually building with AI.
Scoring Methodology
Every user on TopAIUsers receives a score out of 10, calculated as a weighted average across five dimensions:
- Tool Mastery (50%): The dominant factor. How deeply and efficiently do they use AI tools? Running multi-tool workflows, custom skills, MCP servers, agent chains. Someone with 2K followers who runs 5 Claude terminals simultaneously ranks higher than a celebrity who uses ChatGPT for basic prompts.
- Output Quality (25%): What did they BUILD with AI? Not their coding ability. A non-technical founder who shipped a $1M product entirely through Claude Code scores higher than an engineer who wrote 90% by hand. The AI did the work, that is what counts.
- Innovation (15%): Novel approaches to USING AI. New workflows, creative tool combinations, techniques that nobody else thought of. Not using the newest model (that is just being early), but finding capabilities the creators did not advertise.
- Community Impact (5%): Tiebreaker only. This is not a popularity contest. Follower count barely matters here.
- Influence (5%): Tiebreaker only. Fame does not equal mastery.
Scores are reviewed and updated periodically. New users are discovered through community nominations, social media monitoring, and editorial research.

I got paranoid about who was ahead of me, who was doing things I hadn't figured out yet, whose workflows were better than mine. I started tracking every person I could find who was actually pushing AI to its limits. Not the hype people. The real ones. The builders, the shippers, the ones quietly changing how work gets done.
TopAIUsers is the directory I built for myself. The one I check to make sure I'm not falling behind.
